About me

John K-ay is a multi-award-winning film producer, director, screenwriter, and actor with over a decade of experience in the film industry. Born in Burundi, raised in Tanzania’s refugee camps, and now established in Australia, his life story mirrors the resilience and inspiration seen in his films.

John’s international recognition stems from his work on films that have screened and won awards in both national and international film festivals, including Cop’s Enemy and upcoming projects such as Red Toxic. His cinematic vision combines African authenticity with Western production standards — creating stories that are not only artistic but financially scalable and globally marketable
